JOIN US FOR our 2024 16TH ANNUAL GALA:
MITI INA MIZIZI – TREES HAVE ROOTS

Saturday, April 27th, 2024 at Bellvue Manor in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada

We are excited to see old faces and new at our favourite venue Bellvue Manor, and share an evening filled with wonderful food, music, laughter, and fun activities.

Our 16th Annual Gala celebrates the theme of Miti Ina Mizizi, a Swahili expression meaning “Trees Have Roots”.

Our founder Deborah McCracken-Nangereke's fireside chat will include some personal stories highlighting how TOBFC programs provide roots that transform lives so individuals can grow and thrive like trees, as well as insights into our plans for the coming year. Deborah will also discuss how her roots in Vaughan continue to provide incredible support to TOBFC.

By attending the gala, supporters like you help TOBFC to offer programs and services that provide roots for people to blossom and flourish. In addition, for every gala ticket purchased, TOBFC will plant one tree in Tanzania to demonstrate our commitment to strong roots. We look forward to sharing a fabulous night with you!

Please make a donation in the ticket order section If you are unable to attend or can help even more.

If you are interested in donating items for the silent auction or sponsorship opportunities, please see the section below on other ways to help.

EVENT DETAILS

Registration begins at 6:00 pm in the foyer, where you will receive your table number before entering the main hall. Grab a glass of wine, beer, or a soft drink from the bar when you arrive, mix and mingle with friends and roam around the hall. You will find incredible silent auction items, an African marketplace, and a 3D virtual reality tour of TOBFC programs in Tanzania.

At 7:00 pm you will enjoy a sit down dinner served at your table as well as an open bar. Our main course will be chicken, but if you prefer a vegetarian option that can be ordered when you purchase your tickets. After the main course there will be a fireside chat with TOBFC CEO, Deborah McCracken-Nangereke, followed by a dessert buffet.

And of course don’t forget your dancing shoes as the DJ invites everyone to dance the night away.

The silent auction will close at 10:00 pm, but there will still be lots of time to enjoy the music, dance, eat dessert, take photos, participate in the surprise new activity, and visit the 3D virtual reality centre.
