Thank you to all those who took part in Sweeping for Change: The Olive Branch for Children’s 2025 Annual Curling Bonspiel on November 15, 2025 at the Trisan Centre in Schomberg, Ontario, Canada.

 

This annual event brings together new and familiar faces in a special way. Many thanks to those who donated items for the silent auction, helped in the kitchen or in the bar, set up the silent auction and African market table, as well as the curling ice crew and draw master. Together you all made the day a lot of fun and a real success. TOBFC Founder and CEO Deborah McCracken-Nangereke was able to join us again this year, and had a wonderful time curling and talking with everyone.

 

Between entry fees, silent auction purchases and donations, we raised an incredible C$16,215 for TOBFC. These funds will go directly to support our Healthy Mamas, Menstrual Equity and Food Support programs that all target vulnerable girls and women. Funds raised for our Food Support Program will be directed this year to our Infant Nutrition initiative.

 

A special thank you to A Million Mouthfuls for the yummy soup and sandwiches, and to the volunteers who baked delicious homemade goodies for everyone to enjoy.

 

We would also like to express appreciation to the generous anonymous donor who helped us double our impact by matching the first $4,000 donated towards this event.
