FOOD SUPPORT

The Olive Branch for Children (TOBFC) Food Support program targets the most vulnerable people living in the communities served by TOBFC. This program allows older adults and those living with disabilities and serious health conditions to maintain their dignity while providing them with basic necessities and regular monitoring from a member of our Community Care team. Our 19 Complete Community Care Team members are the outreach workers that provide on the ground service delivery to these clients.
Many of those enrolled in our Food Support program are widows who have lost their children to the AIDS pandemic. Every month, over 250 vulnerable individuals, mostly women, benefit from our food and hygiene product distribution and a sense of social connection.

All adult TOBFC Food Support clients are also recipients of Team Hope program benefits.

Infant Nutrition
TOBFC’s infant nutrition initiative is part of our Food Support Program, providing vital nutritional support to vulnerable infants. The initiative primarily serves babies who are orphaned, face health challenges, or whose mothers are unable to breastfeed. Working closely with social welfare services, our Community Care Team connects infants to this program to ensure they receive safe and reliable nourishment during their most critical stage of development. Participating infants receive 6–9 months of formula provision, based on need. Our infant nutrition initiative improves infant mortality rates, ensuring more babies survive the first year of life and laying the foundation for healthier growth and development.
