infrastructure development
The Olive Branch for Children (TOBFC) works with remote communities to see where support in the development of primary facilities is needed to meet basic local needs. We want to ensure that communities have the necessary infrastructure to thrive.
TOBFC construction projects include infrastructure that is or will be owned and operated by the community. We also build projects that are directly owned and operated by TOBFC.
Community-owned infrastructure examples would include the construction of Montessori Kindergarten program facilities, health clinic constructions, and school refurbishments. Since 2008, TOBFC has constructed 20 schools, 2 health clinics, 2 children’s centres, and supervised the drilling and refurbishment of 12 wells and the construction of 5 water catchment systems. We have also undertaken primary school refurbishment projects.
Some of the construction is directly related to TOBFC sites, including the Olive Branch Montessori Academy and the new O’Mara Polyclinic that is currently being developed.
