The Olive Branch for Children (TOBFC) is partnered with a registered volunteer association in Germany to support our work in Tanzania. The Tunakujali Tansania e.V. association was created on January 22, 2015 by volunteers who had worked with TOBFC in Tanzania. Founding members Finn Reinhold and Svenja Treu and others were very impressed by the work being done by the organization and wanted to find a way to continue to support TOBFC once they returned home to Germany.

Tunakujali Tansania e.V. celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2025 with festivities that included a visit from Deborah McCracken-Nangereke, her family and TOBFC staff from Tanzania. Read about Lucy and Mlombwa’s trip to Germany.
Supporting the TOBFC Approach to Development​
TOBFC’s mission is to work in partnership with Tanzanians to respond to challenges and identify solutions that create generational change. Program models in areas such as education and health care are not imposed by TOBFC but are developed together with local Tanzanian communities. This close cooperation between TOBFC and the people of Tanzania is very important to the German association. Empowering Tanzanians to fulfill their potential to help themselves is fundamental to both TOBFC and Tunakujali Tansania e.V.

​Tunakujali Tansania e.V. has an active volunteer community that regularly visits Tanzania. The German association is especially committed to TOBFC education programs. Many members participate in our Academic Support program, funding student sponsorships that cover living and education costs beyond school fees.
