Thanks to the generous support of our German partner Tunakujali Tansania e.V., Mlombwa and Lucy embarked on an enriching journey to Germany in August 2025 to help celebrate Tunakulaji Tansania e.V.'s 10th anniversary. Educated through The Olive Branch for Children (TOBFC), these two inspiring young women are now contributing their skills back to the organization. Mlombwa serves as the manager of The Olive Branch Montessori Academy, while Lucy fulfills the role of Social Care Manager.

Their visit was marked by a warm and welcoming reception from the Tunakujali team, including Doris, Peter, Barbara, Andrea, Bernd, Anna, Michy, and other supporters who provided exceptional hospitality and care.

During their time in Germany, Mlombwa and Lucy experienced a variety of cultural and educational activities. They explored the Open-Air Museum in Detmold and toured the picturesque cities of Paderborn, Schloss Neuhaus, and Soest. Their journey took them to Wuppertal, where they met with supporter Sascha, and to Cologne, where they gathered with longtime supporter Cafe Buur.

Highlighting their commitment to education, Mlombwa and Lucy facilitated two days of workshops for students in partnership with Andrea at the Gymnasium Schloss Neuhaus. This collaboration has flourished over the last decade, with the school raising over €11,000 this year through their sponsored run to support Tunakujali Tansania e.V.'s initiatives, including funding food costs for students enrolled in our education programs and our KICKIT Mobile Libraries.

Their impactful presence was felt at the Tunakujali Tansania e.V.
10-year anniversary event, where the two conducted a vibrant Tanzanian music and dance workshop for children, fostering engagement and participation from both parents and kids alike. In the evening, they further showcased their leadership abilities by participating on a panel with Putiyei Nangereke, our Infrastructure Development and Logistics Manager, answering questions and contributing meaningfully to the event.

Mlombwa and Lucy also had the opportunity to reconnect with the original founders of Tunakujali Tansania e.V., Finn and Svenja, who graciously hosted them in Berlin as they explored this magnificent city. Their network expanded as they met with Sophia and Alberto, former volunteers in Tanzania. Sophia is now working on enhancing Tunakujali Tansania e.V.’s social media presence.

Throughout this journey, Mlombwa and Lucy immersed themselves in diverse cultures, cuisines, histories, and lifestyles, taking significant steps toward solidifying their roles as TOBFC leaders. Their experiences not only enriched their personal growth but have also contributed to the broader mission of our organization.

We are immensely proud of how Mlombwa and Lucy represented TOBFC, embodying the organization’s values and vision while paving the way for future leadership.
